Why your automation or message might not be working

Hubhus has built-in spam controls to prevent over-communication. These can silently block email or SMS sends even if the automation triggers correctly.

If an email or SMS automation is not sending—even though it seems like it should—there are two likely reasons:

  1. The automation has already run and reached its trigger limit

  2. Hubhus' spam protection rules are blocking further messages

Here’s how to check and fix both.

1. Automation has already fired once

Every automation in Hubhus includes a setting called Max. fires per order (or per lead). This limits how many times the automation can trigger for the same lead.

  • If set to 1, it will only run the first time the trigger conditions are met on the lead

  • It won’t run again, even if the exact same conditions are met later

How to fix it

  • Go to Edit campaign → Automations

  • Click the automation, then click Edit trigger

  • Increase the Max. fires per order value (e.g. from 1 to 5)

  • Click Save

2. Spam protection rules are blocking the message

Hubhus has built-in spam controls to prevent over-communication. These can silently block email or SMS sends even if the automation triggers correctly.

Key rules to check:

  • Max. 1 email per lead: Stops multiple emails to the same lead from the same automation

  • Max. 1 email every 24 hours: Limits how often an email can be sent to the same recipient

  • Unsubscribed leads: Can block all emails if set to do so

  • Always allowed setting: Even if an email is blocked by spam rules, you can override this

Example screen:

How to fix it

  • Go to the email template settings

  • Review spam protection rules

  • If needed, change “Max. 1 email per lead” to “No limit” (only if safe to do)

  • Consider enabling “This email is always allowed to be sent” for critical messages

Best practices

  • For recurring messages (like reminders), raise the automation limit and review spam filters (enter 999999 for unlimited)

  • For one-time messages (like welcome emails), a limit of 1 is usually fine

  • Check both automation history and email delivery logs when troubleshooting

Still stuck?

  • Try sending the email manually to verify it’s not blocked

  • Look at the lead history to confirm whether the message or automation ran

  • Always test with a real lead and address to confirm delivery paths work end-to-end
